Since I cannot do much painting until the next few hectic months roll by, thought I'd share the first image, of the first painting I photographed as I worked on it a while back.
These were the days before I bought a real nice camera so the images aren't the best, but ya know.
This was actually done from life at a portrait painting workshop at Pittsburgh's "Center for the Arts" in the Shadyside part of town. No prep drawing except with the brush, which is frightening. Good experience though. Wish I had time to work this way all the time. This was a four hour session over the course of six weeks (which is why I had the time then).
Oh well, back to the digital domain for now.
