Gettysburg Tribute Portrait and Backgrounds

Another pencil rendering I just did for a possible commemorative tribute to the battle of Gettysburg.

And here are some abstract color fields for the same project. I created these with acrylic paint on canvas sheets from a 9x12 inch canvas pad that I have. Crumpled up paper towels were used to blot in the spattering effect:



These next ones were done on gessoed canvas board and watercolor paper respectively:



It should be fun manipulating these interesting color fields in Photoshop and using them as backgrounds for a montage.

Yes I could have just download painted texture images from the web, but it’s so much more fun creating them myself!
